We'd like you to know what we're about here at Neil's Lock and Safe...
|
Our goal at Neil's Lock and Safe is to provide our customers with the
best locksmith service in the Valley.
Neil started this business in October of 1988 after completing a
locksmith course in California. Missing the phone book deadline by
just a couple weeks, he knocked on doors and handed out fliers to
introduce his new business to the public.
At about the same time, a new gun safe company started up,
manufacturing high-quality fire and burglar resistance safes. Neil
became one of the first dealers for Liberty Safes in the nation!
He opened a shop, raising his kids in the back room, and the
business grew. In the midst of a divorce, Neil closed the shop and
became a mobile service again.
Eight years later, Lindy joined Neil's Lock and Safe, and together
they opened the shop next to the old Greenacres building at 2321
Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. in March of 2003. Lindy runs the office, learned
some locksmithing and generally "holds down the fort" while Neil and
Ian are off-site in the service vans.
Our business has grown dramatically since then, which led us to the
decision to hire another locksmith. In October of 2007, we hired Ian
Johnson, a locksmith with 7 years experience from central Florida.
He brings a strong level of expertise and knowledge to our staff, not
to mention he's just a great guy!
Neil's Lock and Safe is not just about Locksmithing and Safes! Neil
has been a Little League coach, involved in cub scouts and soccer
with his boys, and has always been an avid shooter, hunter and
outdoorsman.
Since 2004 Neil has been teaching Hunter Safety Courses for Alaska
State Fish and Game. He has taught more classes than any other
instructor in the state, and truly enjoys introducing new hunters
(especially kids!) to the concepts of ethics, conservation and laws of
hunting. It is especially gratifying when a seasoned hunter, even
professional guides, who have taken his course tell him that they
were surprised how much they got out of it, and what a valuable
investment it was for them.
He also started a youth shooting program here in the Valley through
the National Shooting Sports Foundation and Scholastic Clay Target
Program called The Grouse Ridge Rangers. They shoot at Grouse
Ridge Shooting Grounds out Wasilla-Fishhook on Tex-Al every
week, all-year except during the month of January.
All of us here at Neil's Lock and Safe are shooting, hunting, fishing
and outdoors enthusiasts and enjoy lively discussions with
customers and friends over coffee in our lobby. There are several
websites that Neil highly recommends to gun owners, shooters and
hunters, which we plan to add to our website.
Most of all, we here at Neil's Lock and Safe are about SAFETY and
SECURITY! Do YOU have a gun safe? Are your guns SAFE(d)?
